Community Health Center of Snohomish County (CHC) announced Douglas D. McMillen, MD as Interim Chief Medical Officer. Dr. McMillen is a board-certified physician with more than twenty years of experience treating patients. For the last several years, Dr. McMillen has practiced medicine at CHC’s Edmonds Clinic.
“CHC has been fortunate to have Dr. McMillen’s leadership and expertise on several important initiatives, such as our quality measures review committee and the team that quickly launched Telehealth services in response to COVID restrictions,” said Joe Vessey, Chief Executive Officer. “Dr. McMillen has been a Clinical Director since 2012 and we are excited about his vision, his deeply-rooted understanding of CHC operations, and his dedication to CHC Values.”
Dr. McMillen received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Ohio and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Emory University School of Medicine in Georgia.
During his long career in patient care, Dr. McMillen has spent time educating medical students and medical residents. His expertise in the medical field is also demonstrated through his work in numerous leadership roles and quality-improvement initiatives during his tenure at CHC.
